The following is an excerpt from a training address I delivered to our valiant missionaries at the Provo MTC. I counsel all saints and member missionaries everywhere to share these valuable principles via the Internet and during church meetings and talks, that the Lord’s true Church may profit thereby in bringing many of our Heavenly Father’s children unto salvation through its saving ordinances.
Come, Listen to a Prophet’s Voice!
StandardDue to requests from many members, the following is a transcript of the address I recently delivered at a Regional Conference:
My dearest brothers and sisters,
What a joy it is to be with you during this most marvelous and sacred Regional Conference. How humble, meek, and modest I feel to address you as we meet together to hear the Lord’s will as expressed through His beloved and authorized representatives upon the earth. This immense and spacious Conference Center is filled to capacity with the Lord’s chosen people, as are the many buildings overflowing with valiant Latter-day Saints who are participating via satellite transmission in various locations throughout the stakes of Zion.

British Magistrates Court
My dearest brothers and sisters,
I am writing you today concerning a most urgent matter which has required my immediate attention. Last night my dear nephew, Hyrum, dropped by our home unexpectedly with a pressing matter that he wished to discuss. He stated that he had just learned that our beloved prophet, even President Thomas S. Monson, had been summoned to a British court on allegations of fraud by former Stake President Tom Phillips, and that yesterday the Prophet had boldly and fearlessly sent a team of lawyers to respond to the summons in his behalf. The Sacred Disposition of the Tithes
StandardMy dearest brothers and sisters,
As I travel around the world, I always make certain to admonish the saints regarding the importance of paying a full tithe. I often explain to these humble members that the tithe was instituted as part of the Law of Moses, and thus we see this holy practice throughout the Old Testament. While the adversary would have us believe that the Law of Moses was fulfilled by Christ, we know through modern revelation that many parts of this inspired law remain in effect today, including the sacred and holy law of the tithe.
Obedience: The First Law of Heaven
StandardSome time ago I was invited to speak at a Stake Conference at which I was presiding, and decided to address a most pressing topic that has been plaguing our dearest Latter-day Saints—even God’s chosen people. For the benefit of all, here is a copy of my remarks:
The Book of Mormon in Africa
StandardRecently, my assignments took me and Sister Delaney to far-off Africa, where our Church is growing at a much faster pace than many other places in the world. A large throng of our dearest African members assembled to hear me speak. I decided to address the importance of reading the Book of Mormon, and testified that the surest way to lose a testimony would be to become lax in our belief or critical of its inspired teachings.
Protect the Family, Save America
StandardOne of the great joys and blessings of being an authoritative leader in the Church is the opportunity I often have to help correct some of the misunderstandings that members have regarding our doctrines. While I cannot speak for the Church outside of Conference, I can do my best to try to shed some light on important subjects as they arise. A few days ago, I spoke at a youth devotional regarding the importance of the family. I entitled my remarks “Protect the Family, Save America”: Continue reading
Let Us Be Christlike
StandardMy dearest brothers and sisters,
This morning I was online re-reading past editions of my favorite magazine, The Ensign, when I came across Elder Ballard’s counsel to “start a blog in minutes and begin sharing what you know to be true” (see https://www.lds.org/ensign/2008/07/sharing-the-gospel-using-the-internet). I immediately felt sharp pangs of guilt for not having done so in 2008 when he gave this inspired counsel, and so I decided straightaway to follow our beloved and righteous leader, Elder Ballard, by starting this “blog.” While I cannot promise I will have much time to write here frequently, I will use this “blog” for the purpose of sharing some of my uplifting and important experiences.
